King's Flooring Offers Carpet From:

Select carpet based on fiber, pile, density, and texture.

Fiber is the carpet material itself either natural or synthetic which is attached to a woven backing.

Pile is the height of the fiber.

Density is the amount of fiber tufts per square inch.

Texture is the style in which fibers are twisted, looped  or cut.

Carpet is available with stain-resistant fibers and finishes.  The most effective treatments are part of the manufacturing process.

Carpet padding is critical to a quality carpet installation.  Use a quality pad, thicher is not always better.

Carpet Fiber

  • Nylon is the most common carpet material. It’s the strongest fiber, making it an excellent choice.
  • Polyester is not as durable as nylon, but still quite wear-resistant.
  • Olefin (Polypropylene) widely used for its durability and wool-like feel and appearance.
  • Acrylic is the closest to wool of any of the synthetics.
  • Wool offers excellent resilience and durability.

Carpet Pad

  • Rebond is made from scraps of high density foams.  Rebond padding comes in various thicknesses and densities.
  • Foam is made from urethane foam and is available in different densities and thickness.

Cut Pile

  • Saxony is level-cut pile clipped to about 1/2" high.  Sometimes referred to as plush.
  • Textured is a two-toned yarn tight-twist construction and an uneven surface.
  • Frieze is a short, durable, twisted pile.

Loop Pile

  • Berber features large, uncut loops of natural-tone fibers.
  • Level loop refers to tufted, uncut loops of equal height.

Cut & Loop

  • Combination of the above, allowing more textures and patterns.
